DOME OF THE ROCK (Jerusalem, PALESTINE)

The eight-sided, gold-covered place, which is thought to be Masjid al-Aqsa by many, is actually a unique architectural structure called Dome of the Rock. Although the crusaders, who captured Jerusalem for a while, turned it into a church; after Sultan Saladin conquered Jerusalem, he changed its church state and converted it back into a mosque. Dome of the Rock reached its current appearance with the repairs and modifications made many times by the Ottoman sultans. The tiles on it were completely made by the Ottomans.
